Isazaly (Zalee) is a visionary filmmaker and digital media pioneer, spearheading Kino-i Pictures—a cutting-edge digital production house based in Kuala Lumpur. With a firm belief that digital technology will revolutionise filmmaking in the new millennium, he has been at the forefront of innovation since 1998 as Head of Research & Development at Kino-i. His extensive expertise in digital filmmaking has been instrumental in establishing the company’s stronghold in the fast-evolving world of digital media. A co-founder of Kino-i, Isazaly combines creativity with technical mastery to push boundaries in film production.

Known affectionately as Zalee, his journey in film and television spans Malaysia and Singapore, rooted in a lifelong passion for storytelling. A former child actor from the age of 10, he grew up immersed in the world of production sets, giving him an innate understanding of the craft.

After completing his foundation studies in Product & Graphic Design at La Salle College of the Arts, he pursued filmmaking at Akademi Filem Malaysia. His talent quickly shone through when he was selected to represent the institute at the 7th Independent Du Film Festival in Brussels (1997). Graduating with honours in 1999, his final project, "Between Jasmine and His Deep Blue Sea", earned the prestigious Kodak Worldwide Student Program Award for Best Film Project in Malaysia, marking the beginning of an illustrious career.

In May 2005, his ‘micromovie’ was among the 12 worldwide finalists to participate in St Kilda’s Film Festival in Melbourne, sponsored by Siemens Mobile Germany. Isazaly also played a pivotal role as a Technical Advisor in establishing FINAS Post (FINAS Post-Production House) in 1996, where he helped implement the region’s first SONY ES-7 Non-Linear Editing System—a groundbreaking advancement at the time.

Further solidifying his expertise, he became an Apple-Certified Final Cut Pro Trainer in mid-2003, a credential he held until 2017. This certification underscored his mastery of cutting-edge editing technologies and his commitment to industry education.

In 2010, Isazaly's creative vision earned significant recognition when his 90-second short film won the Grand Jury Prize at the British Council Singapore competition. That same year, he demonstrated his innovative approach to cultural storytelling through a commissioned 3-minute exhibition film for Singapore's Malay Heritage Museum.

Titled 'And The Games We Played', this unique project showcased five traditional "kampung games" through stunning super high-speed (slow-motion) cinematography, offering viewers a fresh perspective on cultural heritage. The work highlighted Isazaly's ability to blend technical mastery with meaningful cultural narratives.

In December 2017, Zalee led his team to win the prestigious Jury Award for "Best Short Documentary" at the Hollywood Film Festival for 'SPRAYED', serving as both Producer and Editor for Florida-based production company Future History Films Inc.

2018 marked another career milestone when he was honoured as a Certified Master Trainer for Blackmagic Design, recognised for his expertise in their revolutionary post-production software, DaVinci Resolve.

Isazaly has been formally recognised by the Malaysia Board of Technologies (MBOT) as a Certified Technician in Art Design & Creative Multimedia Technology (AM). This prestigious certification grants him the professional designation "Tc", signifying his technical expertise and commitment to excellence in multimedia arts. The MBOT credential validates Isazaly's specialised skills at the intersection of artistic creativity and technological innovation, further establishing his authority in Malaysia's digital media landscape.

In July 2025, Zalee was honoured to be named a Global Ambassador by EIZO Corporation, joining an elite group of visual technology experts worldwide. This prestigious appointment recognises his exceptional expertise in colour-critical display technologies and his influential role in advancing post-production standards across the industry.

As an EIZO Global Ambassador, Zalee represents the gold standard in display solutions for professional filmmakers and post-production specialists, further cementing his reputation as an international authority in digital imaging technologies.
