Pioneering Digital Media & Post-Production

Isazaly (Zalee) is an established filmmaker, educator, and digital media pioneer who serves as the co-founder of Kino-i Pictures in Kuala Lumpur. Operating at the strategic intersection of technical engineering and narrative vision, he has driven the company's Research & Development initiatives since 1998, anticipating the revolutionary shift toward digital workflows in the new millennium.

Affectionately recognized throughout the regional industry as Zalee, his career spans more than 30 years across Malaysia and Singapore. Immersed in production environments from the age of 10 as a child actor, he possesses an intuitive, baseline understanding of the cinematic craft that influences his post-production frameworks today.

Following his foundation training in Art & Design at La Salle College of the Arts, Singapore, he specialized in cinematic production at the Malaysia Film Academy. In 1997, his early promise was recognized internationally when he represented the institute at the 7th Independent Film Festival in Brussels. Upon graduating with honors, his senior thesis project, "Between Jasmine and His Deep Blue Sea", won the prestigious Kodak Worldwide Student Program Award for Best Film Project in Malaysia.

In May 2005, his auteur micro-feature achieved global validation, standing as one of 12 worldwide finalists selected to compete at the St Kilda’s Film Festival in Melbourne, sponsored by Siemens Mobile Germany. Beyond directing, his specialized technical counsel proved foundational during the establishment of FINAS Post in 1996, where he directly facilitated the deployment of the region's first SONY ES-7 Non-Linear Editing framework.

Solidifying his role as a structural educator, Zalee earned his credentials as an Apple-Certified Final Cut Pro Trainer in mid-2003, maintaining this influential benchmark for digital editing instruction until 2017. In 2010, his creative vision earned the Grand Jury Prize at the British Council Singapore competition for his short film 'Corridor'. Concurrently, he was commissioned to direct an experimental exhibition installation for Singapore's Malay Heritage Museum titled 'And The Games We Played', recording traditional heritage through high-speed, ultra-slow-motion cinematography.

In December 2017, Zalee garnered international acclaim as the Producer and Editor for the US-based banner Future History Films Inc., leading the creative team to secure the Jury Class Winner title for "Best Short Documentary" at the Hollywood Film Festival for the project 'SPRAYED'. By 2018, his profound mastery of cutting-edge color engineering led to his appointment as a Certified Master Trainer for Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve.

His technical contributions have been formally chartered by the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), awarding him the professional title of Certified Technician (Tc.) in Art Design & Creative Multimedia Technology. In July 2025, visual computing authority EIZO Corporation selected Zalee to join an exclusive, world-class cohort as a Global Ambassador for the ColorEdge display ecosystem.

Today, alongside executing advanced post-production mandates, Zalee actively guides the long-term professional standards of national media professionals as Chairman of the Post-Production Professionals Association (MyPOST).
